When you write your Curriculum Vitae.
As soon as you know you have enough information about the position you are looking at start writing the CV with the following in mind.
? If there are specific key skills the job description asks for, make sure that you include appropriate skills within your CV so that the potential employer can see that you are appropriate to the job.
? Ensure that the letter you send in with your cv is relavent and brief and enables the potential employer you are applying to to see why you would be the applicant for the vacancy. This involves ensuring that any data you have gleaned about the requirements of the role offered are talked about in a positive way for you within the covering note.
? Ensure that contact information are clearly shown at the head of the page so that the potential employer wont need to go searching through reams of text to get to you.
? Never use negative language when talking about yourself, your skills or the company you are interested in. Be bright and positive about who you are and the position you are interested in, you can, get the job you want.
? With educational qualifications and previous jobs make sure you list the most recent qualification and job first and work the timeline backwards from there. Put the educational section first if you are fresh out of college with any relavent work experience afterwards. As you have more jobs place the list of employers first with your education afterwards. In both categories draw out information that is appropriate to the job you are applying for. Add any extra relavent vocational qualifications after this.
? Hobbies and interests can help with the job you are planning on applying for if you can ensure the skills within it are useful, team sports for example show that you enjoy working as part of a team.
? Finally try to get the end product typed out on a PC and get a version stored on disc. If you don?t have your own PC, you might be able to use the computer at your local library or pop into a regional internet caf? and talk to the owner there. If you cant get to a computer and you have tidy handwriting make sure you use some quality paper to give the right impression to your potential employer.

Finding a job can be hard especially if you are trying to find one that meets all your needs. The best thing to do is to either go to a local recruitment agency who will be able to advise you onyour career options or start actively searching for jobs either online, in local papers or through word of mouth. One of the best ways of doing this is online as you can search for jobs in your own time using a range of phrases. You can search using the job title that you are going for or by searching for jobs in your area using terms like Jobs Bournemouth or Jobs Dorset.
When you go to the interview make sure you present yourself appropriately to your prospective employer. This covers the basic things like ironing your clothes, polishing your shoes, comb your hair. If your feeling good about how you appear, that presents itself to those around you. When you meet your interviewers
· Attempt to be relaxed when you get to an interview, if you behave in a polite relaxed manner people have a inclination to be comfortable around you.
· When you initially meet your potential employer make sure you smile and keep a positive outlook throughout your interview.
· Shake hands firmly, but don’t try to crush their hand or give a weak handshake that feels like some kind of wet cloth.
· Try not to cross your arms and legs, as this is a sign that you are feeling defensive.
· Ensure you speak clearly, don’t cover your mouth with your hand, chew gum or talk to loudly or quietly.
· Give eye contct to the interviewers.
· When sat down be attentive leaning slightly forward and upright.
· At the end of the interview, ask the interviewer whether they could give you an idea ofhow long you should expect to wait to get an answer from them.
Ensure you think about how the interview went, write down things you feel didn’t work, so you can look back, if you have to. Keep searching for, and applying to, work that you want, so that you don’t lose time, hanging around for a reply from the initial company. If you don’t get the job, look at how you were in the interview, but don’t take it personally there are lots of jobs out their and you will find the right job for you. Keep going and don’t loose heart.
